By 1804 Rhoda (John's wife) had remarried to Samuel Holmes. Apparently she was only married about 12 years to John King so apparently she was not the mother of all the children listed.

Guilford King had a marriage bond to marry Zilphey Jones which was dated 30 Nov 1813. His bondsman was David Jones. The marriage bond was in Wake County, NC records.
Drury King had a marriage bond in Wake County North Carolina to marry Delilah Shaw. It was dated 17 Nov 1810. Burwell King was his bondsman. Guilford King had a bond to marry Zilphey Jones, dated 30 Nov 1813 also in Wake Co, NC. His bondsman was David Jones. Marriages usually took place in the county of the bride, however, Wake County was settled early by numerous Kings who intermarried confusing the genealogy.
Guilford Dudley King who was born in NC. abut 1789. He married Zilpha Jones in 1813 in Wake Co., NC, then migrated to Lauderdale Co., AL. by 1830. He named one of his sons Drury.

William King born 1823 in Wake, N.C., married Mary Boyles. They had 12 children, one was Mary Amanda King, my Great Grandmother.
Asa King married Catherine Pell Jan. 24, 1825 possibly Wake Co., NC. They moved to AL. at some point, as Asa King died in Greensboro, AL. on April 16, 1843. Greensboro is in Hale Co., AL. His obit stated he lived in Newbern, AL. which is also in Hale Co.
Gilford Dudley King was in the 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, and 1870 Lauderdale Co., AL. census records. Gilford was born 1789 in N.C. and died 1875 in Lauderdale Co. He married Zilpha Peggy Jones Nov. 30, 1813 in Wake Co., N.C. She was born 1791, died 1879 and she and Gilford are buried in Old Pettus Cem. in Lauderdale Co. They had 6 children: 1. Elizabeth-born 1814-married George W. Thigpen 2. Hinton-born 1816, married Sarah Elizabeth Hill. 3. Margaret-born 1818, married William Beavers. 4. Quinton-born 1819, married 1st Elizabeth Call, 2nd Susan Currin. 5. Drury Minton-born 1824, married Matilda Joiner. 6. Sarah-born 1828, married John W. Michael. Gilford's father could be a William King. It is believed that his father William moved to Madison Co.,AR about 1830 with some of Gilford's siblings going, also. Other sources say Gilford's father is named Allen.
I'm looking for a James King who had land in the Durham - Wake Co., NC area before 1800. He had as a neighbor, William Floyd. William may have married a Sarah King. A Sarah King married a Wm. Floyd, but I don't know if it is my Wm. Floyd. This was referred to as Land Grants to First Settlers in Old Orange Co., now Southern Durham and parts of Wake County., NC.

I have found info in the Carroll Co. Tenn History Book. It list Leonidas King as a son of Thomas King who came to Tn on or about 1810,There were no dates listed for him. Thomas's 3rd son was b. 1825 with his 2nd wife S. Lawson-Thomas was born in Wake County NC 1781, 5th child of John King & Sallie Sarah Seawell and John died in Wake County 1795 leaving wife 6 children there. Thomas King settled near Carroll and Benton County line in TN.
Chesley was son of Thomas Alvin? King and a __Lawson /Lawler? Thomas b. 1787 Wake Co. NC 10 miles N ofRaleigh had 3 wives, His children were named, by 1st wife- Jerimah,2nd wife ?Wesley, Presley, Chesley, Wiley, Thomas, Mary Ann, Duncan & John, by 3rd wife Sara Watson, Mary Ann (Dolly) Elizabeth(Betsy) and Leonidas King. Thomas was son of Joel King,b 1746 Leicestershire England m. 1775 to Sallie Sarah Sewell dau. of Benjamin Seawell of Butte Co NC in 1779. Joel died 1795 in Wake Co. NC their children were Joel, John Wesley, Benjamin, Thomas, William Flecher, & Elizabeth Betsy, Joel said to Amer. in 1769 at 23, in 1770 started to preach in DEa Trustee at Franklin Academy 1787.He was the son of Joel King of the Church of England.
Drury King of Wake Co., NC. Drury was listed in the 1820 census of Wake Co. NC. and I believe he is the father of Richard King who came to Ga. during the 1790's.
Seeking parentage for John King d 1784 and wife Mary Osborne of Loudoun Co., VA. My ancestors Rev. Timothy Carrington and William Floyd married King sister, Winifred (Winny) King and Sarah King respectively. Timothy Carrington and William Floyd left Loudoun Co VA before Rev. War and moved to Wake Co., NC and then to Georgia.
