They had eight children.
In 1866, Richard suffered an accident resulting in the loss of a hand.[1]

Richard King late of Wakefield died at Nelson on 1 Dec 1876, aged 88, giving a birth year of 1788.[4] But the best match I could see for Richard junior in emigration records was a sailing in 1841, which gave his father Richard's age as 39, giving a birth year of 1802 (he was a carpenter and wheelwright, and his wife isn't named in the record.)
Richard was born about 1831 in Hampshire, England.[5] He was the son of Richard King and Elizabeth (Scutter) King
