When Soloman King was born on February 17, 1748, in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, his father, William, was 31 and his mother, Jemima, was 27. He married Lydia Ely on April 11, 1769. They had two children during their marriage. He died as a young father on September 28, 1775, in his hometown.[3]
