Biography

Private Silas Kemp served with Lincoln County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Silas, son of Hezekiah Kemp and Dorothy Adams, was born on 11 November 1741 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts.^[1]

Silas was a private in Captain Nehemiah Curtis' Company, having enlisted on 7 Jul 1779. He served over 2 months on the Penobscot Expedition in Maine. He was discharged on 25 Sep 1779 at Harpswell, Maine.^[2]
