Robert Jenkins was in the military and died of wounds in France on 7 January 1917 aged 28 years. He was in the Australian Infantry (service number 3571) and was buried in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery in France. [6] [7]

Robert was engaged to Amy Francis (Trippy) Forsyth of Ringarooma and she never married after his death. Amy died on 5 June 1968 aged 76 years.

Private Robert James Jenkin of the 12th Battalion - Service number 3571 - is one of seven soldiers killed in World War 1 who is honoured in the Legerwood Memorial Park in Legerwood, Tasmania, Australia. More information can be found here: [8] and here: [9]
