Daniel, 14 yrs old when his father died, was taken into the household of his older, married brother, Joseph Hadley Jr.[2]

In July 1777 Daniel enrolled as a soldier in Captain Samuel McConnell's company of General John Stark's brigade from Weare, NH for 2 and 1/2 months. [4]

In 1794 he moved his family to Sandwich, NH and eventually settled near Young Mountain, where he died about 1830.
