Biography

Bernice Gray was born on Apr 19, 1888 in Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine, United States, daughter of Frank W. Gray (1860–1936) and Nettie Staples (1866–1917).

In the 1910 census Bernice (age 20) was the single daughter of Frank W Gray in Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine, United States.[1]

Bernice married Earl Sidney Snow on Dec 25, 1914 in Blue Hill, Hancock. Their known children were:

  1. Irl Franklin Snow (1922–2015)
  2. Nettie Eliza Snow (1924–2013)
  3. Evangeline Linnis Snow (1927–2003)

Bernice died on Jul 7, 1965 in Castine, Hancock, aged 77. She was buried in Mount Rest Cemetery, Brooksville, Hancock County, Maine.

In the 1920 census Bernice (age 31) was the wife of Sidney Snow in Hancock, Maine, United States.[2]

In the 1930 census Berenice (age 42) was the wife of Earl S Snow in Brooksville, Hancock, Maine, United States.[3]

NORTH BROOKSVILLE —
      Mrs. Bernice G. Snow, 77, died Wednesday at a Castine hospital after a long illness.
      She was born April 19, 1888, at Sedgwick, daughter of Frank and Nettie (Staples) Gray.
      She was a member of the North Brooksville Methodist Church and the Rainbow Grange here.
      She taught school at Blue Hill, Sedgwick and North Brooksville. She was postmaster here for 15 years.
      She is survived by her husband, Sidney Snow of here; a son, Frank of here; two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Leach of Penobscot and Mrs. Evangeline Peasley of West Brooksville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
      Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, here, the Rev. Charles Dartnell of Brewer officiating.
      Interment will be in Mount Rest Cemetery here.
      Friends may call at the Jordan Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Thursday afternoon and evening.
