In the 1881 census Ewen (age 50), Crofter, was in Aird Bernsdale 68, Snizort, Invernessshire. He was living with his Daughter Ulina aged 16, son James aged 13, son Norman aged 8 and grandmother Ann Beaton aged 84.^[3]
