Biography
Mary Grant was born about 1821 in Upper Canada. She was Roman Catholic in faith, and married John "Fiddler" Alexander Cameron. [1]
They farmed in Charlottenburg Township, Glengarry, Canada West. In 1861 they had four children, all Church of Scotland adherents, and lived in a 1 storey frame house. (Most neighbours had log homes.) [2] By 1871, their family had grown to 7 children. [3]
By 1881, they were living in Summerstown, Ontario and sons John James and Alexander were no longer living with them. [4]
John Alexander Cameron died 7 May 1882 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. [5]
