Alexander Grant was born in Scotland.

Alexander Grant was born at Wick, Caithness, Scotland in 1828, the son of William Grant and Ann Cormack.^[1]

Alexander passed away at Townsville in the Colony of Queensland, in 1899 and was interred in the West End Cemetery.^[2]

William's father was Alexander Grant, and his mother Christina Douglas.
