born 1677 in England (Richmond, Yorkshire?) recorded as being in Elizabethtown New Jersey (Essex county then, Union county now) in 1706, but possibly there as early as 1695.
As near as I can tell, William married Ann (Anna/Anne) Laulon (LaLour) daughter of Maximilian and Elizabeth (Hatfield) Laulon but other records say he was married to Cordelia (Langford?) Perhaps Ann died young and he remarried.
"Lyons Farm" (Currently Hillside, NJ)
Per a reference I stumbled across, John and Abigail (Townley) Garthwait(e)'s children were: Daniel Garthwaite: married Esther Jeffers Henry D. J. Garthwaite: married Mercy Crandall Oliver C Garthwaite: married Lois Green Lee Garthwaite: married Karoline Solfestdotter Leota Garthwaite: married Raymond Adam I cannot confirm the accuracy of this, but it's a lead.
There are many relationships to the Townley, Crane, Britton and Carpenter families.
