Rome Lee Gard was born on 20 Feb 1914 in Perry Co., Ohio as the first child of Thomas Lawrence Gard and Hazel Dell Parr. He had two siblings, namely: Arthur Earl, and Virginia June. On 16 Jan 1937 in Franklin County Probate Rome and Jennie Elizabeth Helenthal, daughter of Raymond Helenthal and Stella Marie Conrad attempted to get married but certificate was not issued due to non-consent, Jenni Elizabeth Helenthal's age of 19. When he was 22, he married Jenni on 27 Jan 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio. This marriaged ended in divorce on 5 Mar 1970 in Muskingum, Ohio. Rome Lee Gard and Emily Marie Longstreth had no children. He died on 19 Sep 1995 in Lancaster, Fairfield Co., Ohio. He was buried in Rosehill Cemetery, Ohio.
