Jean Garand was born on March 13, 1795 in Saint-Gervais, Bas-Canada, son of Jean Garand (1772–1830) and Angélique Audet (1774–1800).[1]
Jean (26) married Marie Françoise Thibault (17) (born on June 7, 1804 in Saint-Gervais; daughter of Louis Thibeault and Marie-Louise Miville) on August 23, 1821 in Saint-Gervais.[2] Their daughter was Sophie Garand (1826–1879).
