Joseph Garand was born on January 7, 1807 in Saint-Gervais, Bas-Canada, son of Pierre Garand (1774–1853) and Marie-Josephte Audet (1782–1840).[1]
Joseph (22) married Margueritte Ménard (28) (born on April 10, 1801 in Saint-Vallier, Bas-Canada; daughter of Jean-Baptiste Menard and Magdelene Victoire (Carboneau) Carbonneau) on July 7, 1829 in Saint-Vallier, Bas-Canada. [2]Their daughter was Marie Marguerite Garand (1832– ).
Joseph died on April 4, 1876 in Saint-Gervais, Québec, Canada, aged 69.[3]
