Served in the Revolutionary War Rose to the rank of Lt. Probably killed in the war. Eliphalet Enlisted June 1st 1775 for a period of two months in Capt. Samuel McCobbs Co., Col John Nixon's (5th) Regt. He was a sergent as of August 1st 1775. In this time he fought at the Battle of Bunker HIll.
Listed on a company return dated Winter Hill, October 7th, 1775
He is on a list of men returned as having voluntarily enlisted in the army in 1775.
In 1776 he was a Ensign in the 11th Regiment of foot, commanded by Col. D. Hitchcock
He also served as a Lietuenant in Capt John Blunts's Co., Samuel McCobbs Regt, Engaged June 28th 1779, Discharged September 28th 1779, service 3 months on Penobscot expedition
Also 2nd Lieutenant Capt Timothy Foster's Co (his Father) co. Maj William Lithgo's detachment of militia; service between September 1st 1779 and November 4th, 1779, 1 Month 7 Days defending frontiers of Lincoln CO.
He was last heard of in April 1780 when he was chosen Moderator, It is believed that he enlisted as a privateer and was not heard from after. So his death can be established between 1780-1784.
