(V) John (3), son of Thomas and Mary (Moulton) Fickett, was baptized at Scarboro, August 1, 1736; he owned a thousand acres of land at Barren Hill, where he died about 1820. He was published to be married to Mrs. Isabel Roberts, daughter of William and Hannah (Strout) Dyer, who was born at Truro, Massachusetts. One John Fickett, perhaps the one here considered, or his son of the same name, was in Captain Briant Merton's company at Cape Elizabeth and Scarboro, in 1776; also in Captain Joshua Jordan's company, Colonel Jonathan Mitchell's regiment. William Dyer, father of Isabel, wife of John Fickett, was born at Barnstable, October 30, 1690. He married (first) at Eastham, Massachusetts, April 15, 1709, Hannah, daughter of Christopher Strout, the Strout family having removed from Truro, Massachusetts, to Cape Elizabeth, Maine. William Dyer married (second) July 26, 1749, Hannah Higgins, of Truro; they resided at Truro, whence they removed to Cape Elizabeth. William Dyer's father, grandfather of Mrs. Fickett, was Dr. William Dyer, born 1653, a physician of Barnstable, who later removed to Truro where he died July 27, 1738. He married, in December, 1686, Mary, daughter of Dr. Henry and Lydia (Hatch) Taylor, who was born at Barnstable in 1658, died at Truro, October 8, 1738. Dr. Henry Taylor was a physician of Barnstable and Boston, the son of John Taylor, of Scituate, Massachusetts; he married (first) December 19, 1750, Lydia, daughter of Thomas Hatch, of Barnstable, and second, Mary . Of Thomas Hatch, father of Mrs. Taylor, little is known; he was made freeman in Massachusetts, May 14, 1634, went to Yarmouth, and thence to Barnstable in 1641. The name of his first wife, who was the mother of Lydia, is not known, his second wife was Grace . He died in 1661.

If he is the son of Mary (Moulton) Fickett he must have been born later, e.g. about 1729.

According to lack of evidence of Mary (1691-)'s marriage to Fickett, and her merge proposal, she would not be the mother. Choosing Mary {1710/1-) whose marriage must be 1728 not 1722.

I was entering a Mary (Emery) Moulton in my line, and was asked to match across several Mary Moultons already on WikiTree. It didn't match any of those out there, but two of those out there should most likely be merged. They both say "No Profile Manager", and I'm just hoping to clean up some data. These are Moulton-16 and Moulton-345 (345 carries more data). It may be true that one has more children (345) than the other (16), but the child in 16 (John) matches the data from 345 (John), and the husband matches completely (Thomas Fickett from Portsmouth, NH), as well as the wife of the son John (Isabel Dyer, married Dec 13, 1749 in Falmouth). How do we merge these, since Mary Moulton is older than 300 years, and what's the usual process when we run into such situations?
