The Eddy Family in America, page 168
Jonathan was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in the 7th Co. of the 3rd Reg’t at Woodstock, Conn. on May 10, 1775 and was discharged December 15, 1775.
After living a while in Woodstock, Conn., Jonathan purchased land in Monson (Springfield Deeds 31.139) and took up his residence there. This was close to the Brimfield line. He lived there until his death. Othneil Eddy settled his estate. Calvin Moulton became guardian of Jonas aged 19 and Joel aged 16 in 1794. In 1796 David Williams was a guardian of Resolved Eddy, non-compos and Asher Knight was a guardian of Lucy, Clarissa, Rachel and Thankful Eddy, heirs of Jonathan Eddy, late of Monson. In another record the name of Asahel appears in place of Rachel. This is probably a clerical error. (Springfield Rec., 40.259 and Northampton Rec., 19.65 and 19.227.). There are several other deeds of interest. There is mention of Olive Eddy to whom money is owing. Levy Eddy, Barnabas Eddy and Othneil Eddy are witnesses of other deeds.
