In Hopkinton, R. I., Sept. 7th, of dysentery, Sally Babcock, wife of Dea. Elnathan W. Babcock, aged 63 years. To all who knew Sister Babcock, it is needless to add any panegyric, her life being the best that could be given. To others, it may be said that, in all relations of life, she exhibited the Christian. As the wife of a prominent Deacon, she conformed to the apostolic model. As a mother, neighbor, friend, and disciple of Christ, her remembrance will be long cherished by those who knew her best. Her death covers a beloved family in deepest sorrow. May they be supported in this day of adversity, and may her worth fall on the many who can rise up and call her blessed. Her funeral was attended by a large concourse of people, and a sermon preached by Eld. S. S, Griswold, from “To die is gain.”
