James was born on 27 July 1751 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was the son of Benjamin Davis and Sibila Rocket.[1][2]

James served in the American Revolution as a private at the Lexington Alarm and the Battle of Bunker Hill.[3][4]

James married Mary Streeter on 5 July 1777 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.[5]

James died (age 46) on 3 January 1797 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.[6]
