  • Maine Vital Records for Births and Christenings 1739-1900 via FamilySearch.org (LDS) [1] shows the image of a birth record (transcribed, yet ancient) that purports his birth location was "Industry [Franklin County] Maine." However, this is proven to be an erroneous location as the residences of his father indicate a Martha's Vineyard birth location. It is believed that when transcription happened, they made a mistake. Industry ME's first notice in the US Census occurred in 1810 and was probably uninhabited wilderness when Tristram Daggett was born in 1758. Secondary and indirect sources show his father was of Martha's Vineyard at the time of his birth.
