Benjamin Cooper married Lydia Bartlett, daughter of Joshua and Priscilla (Jacobs) Bartlett, on 24 October 1775 at Kingston, Rockingham, New Hampshire. [1]

Benjamin and Lydia were still living in Kingston, Rockingham, New Hampshire as of the 1790 U.S. Federal Census; Benjamin's name is listed just below that of Joshua Bartlett, presumably Lydia's eldest brother. [2]

One of Lydia's other elder brothers, Samuel Bartlett, went to Maine to live about 1769, first going to New Meadows and then settling in Thomaston sometime before April 21, 1777. [3]

Benjamin Cooper was born in 1757 and was from Cambridge, Massachusetts and he married Lydia Bartlett. [4] Sometime after the 1790 U.S. Federal Census[5], they settled at South Thomaston, Maine. He died 19 April 1843, aged 86, and she died 02 May, 1821, aged 67. They had 10 children. [6]

Note: Lydia's date of death appears to be incorrect in this source because she would not yet have been 67 years old. Also, her gravestone at Owl's Head, Knox, Maine shows: "died Nov 2, 1821, aged 67 years" [7]
