Biography

1776 Project
Private Obadiah Brown served with Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Obadiah Brown Jr. was born about 1748, the son of Obadiah Brown and Martha Waterman of Providence. [1]

He married Elizabeth (___). [2]

Benjamin served as a private in General Sullivan's Life Guard was killed in battle on August 29, 1778 [3] [4]aged 36, and is buried in the North Burial Ground at Providence. [2]

In the division of his father Obadiah Sr.s' estate, his portion was given to his widow Elizabeth and their two daughters, Martha and Nancy. [1]
