Biography

George was born 18 December 1902 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina.^[1] He was the son of George Carroll Brown Sr. and Esther Emmaline Whaley Wescoat.

He married Margaret Emelyn Edwards on 17 June 1931 in Batesburg, Lexington County, in a ceremony performed by W. O. Young.^[2]

George died on 22 July 1979 in Walterboro, Colleton County,^[3] and he is buried there in the Live Oak Cemetery.^[4]
