26 July 1727 james Brent married Catherine Newton Martin, a widow, in Lancaster Virginia, British Colonial, America. ^[2]

His will was created 19 April 1750 and he died in the Parish of Christ Church and county of Lancaster, VA sometime prior to the probate of his will on 11 May 1750. .^{[3] [1]}
