Biography
John Boot was born in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England in 1783. He was baptised at St Wilfrid's Church, Kirkby in Ashfield on 15th June 1783, the son of Samuel & Sarah Boot.
He married Ann Dobb at St Nicholas' Church, Nottingham, after banns, on 6th August 1804.[1]
On the 1841 census, John & Ann Boot lived at Kirkby Woodhouse, Kirkby in Ashfield, where John was a FWK. (Framework Knitter) Living in the house was at least four children of John & Ann, and two grandchildren belonging to their daughter Sarah.[2]
In 1851, John & Ann lived at Annesley Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, where John was a Cottager of 5 acres. With them were their children John (33), Matthew (23), and Ann (19).[3]
John Boot died at Kirkby in Ashfield in 1852, aged 70 years[4]. He was buried on the 17th March 1852, when his age was given as 69.[5]
