A transcription from a digital image of The Poll Book 1772 reads: “The Poll for the County of Wilts. MDCCLXXII [1772] ... [22] ... Chalke ...Freeholders Name: Thomas Bond; Place of Abode Chalke; [Votes For] Herbert”. Without knowing the death dates for the various Thomas Bonds, we can’t be certain which one has the vote, but it is mentioned in Thomas’ son Thomas’ will in 1822.[14]
