Sergeant Joseph Blake served with Col. Josiah Brewer's Regiment, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Joseph Blake was born around 1757, probably in Scarborough, Maine[1].

He married Hannah Hopkins in 1781. They were both living in Standish, Maine, at the time, but relocated before the birth of their first child to Gorham, Maine. They had eight children[2]:

7. Charles, born 6 Nov 1800; married Rebecca Moody
8. Joseph, born 15 Apr 1803; married Elizabeth Moody

Joseph was a soldier in the American Revolutionary War and received a pension for his services[1]. He passed away on 28 January 1840 in Gorham[3] and is buried in West Gorham Cemetery.
