Amelia Bent married Gilbert T. Ray of St. John, New Brunswick. From the City Gazette of Saint John, New Brunswick Oct. 25, 1820: "m. Granville, N.S., 10th inst., by Rev. S. Bamford, Gilbert T. Ray, Digby/ Miss Amelia Bent of former place." Her husband, along with Aaron Eaton formed a prominent shipping line in St. John. Amelia's sister Mary married Mr. Eaton. Amelia and Gilbert Ray didn't have children.
Amelia passed away in St. John in December 1875: "d. Wednesday 15 inst., 5:20 p.m. of congestion of the lungs, Mrs. G. T. Ray 79th year. Funeral from her residence 58 Carmarthen St. (St. John) Saturday 18th inst. 2:30 p.m." She was buried in Fernhill Cemetery in St. John.
