Notes

Note N98Marriage Certificate for George and Emma Fathers: James Bent Labourer and John Hill Shoe Maker. Witnesses William David Aldacre and Mary Day (mark of)
Note from John Moon re 1851 census
I was intrigued by the presence of Caroline (Neice 23) and William Perrins (Nephew 4m) on the 1851 census record of George Bent. You had found a Joseph Bent married to Charlotte Perrins in 1846 at Kidderminster. [He actually married an Ann Bennett Dec 1846 Charlotte Perrins married Harvey Jones in Nov 1846 (same Q BMD actual months from IGI) --AR comment)]
I suspect that Joseph is the younger son of George but cannot find any way to prove it.
I have found that William Perrins married Lucy Edwards 19/9/1824 at Kidderminster. They can be seen clearly on the 1861 census (see attachment). Lucy was baptised 3/1/1802 at Chaddesley Corbett (just outside Kidderminster) parents Thomas and Mary. I have also found Sarah Edwards baptised 21/3/1812 at Hartlebury (also just outside Kidderminster) parents Thomas and Mary. It is starting to look like they are sisters and Sarah is George Bent's first wife. It is a pity they have all such common names or we could be more certain.
I think the Caroline Perrins shown on the 1851 census is the unmarried daughter of William and Lucy Perrins. I think she is the same person as the Ann C Perrins on the 1861 census. I am wondering if there is some tragedy unfolding here: is William her illegitimate son? Could she have moved away from her parents home for the birth of William and then returned home when the fuss had died down?
