Henry Bartholomew Sr. has German Roots.
Henry Bartholomew Sr. was an early settler in Pennsylvania.

An immigrant ancestor, Henry Bartholomew was born 16 August 1728 in ZweiBrucken, Germany.[1] He came to America in 1751.[1] Henry was married to Hannah Zimmerman. Henry's will names 3 sons and one daughter. He died 7 Sept. 1807 and is buried at Stone Church, Kreidersville, Northampton, Pennsylvania.[1]

On Sept. 14, 1777, the Supreme Executive Council of the Continental Congress met and issued orders for the removal of important documents and money from Philadelphia before the British arrival in the city. Henry and a neighbor, John Snyder, were to drive a wagon with money and papers from the Public Loan Office in Philadelphia to Easton, Pennsylvania for safekeeping. Also, appointed to convey these important items were Mr. Lowden and Mr. Hope, to guard the money and papers; and two others to guard the wagon.[5] [6] In 1778, Henry and his neighbor, again, used their wagon to aid the cause, this time carrying ammunition and valuables from Pittstown, New Jersey to Easton, Pennsylvania.[7]

Heinrich served in the 2nd Co., 4th Bn., Capt. George Edelman's Co., Northampton County Militia as a 6th Class Private.[8]
