Timothy was one of the men from Torrington in Litchfield County who volunteered to march to the relief of the Continental Army on 23 Dec 1776.[5] He later rose to the rank of Captain.[6][7]
By 1790, Timothy and his family were living in Litchfield, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA.[8]
Timothy died at age 75 on 12 Apr 1817, and was buried in Grantville Cemetery, Norfolk, Litchfied, Connecticut.[9]
Will
Timothy's will was written on 11 Feb 1817.[10] His bequests were as follows:
$50 to his brother Elijah Barber
$50 each to three minor children: Samuel Bandle, Elisabeth Bandle, and Sarah Bandle
$50 and his bed with quilt, blankets, and sheets to Keturah Bandle, daughter of Frederick Bandle
the remainder of his estate to Frederick Bandle
Luther Foot, who witnessed the will, was a neighbor, as shown on the Litchfield 1790 Census.[8]
Timothy's half-sister (and cousin) Sarah Barber married John George Bandell in 1779. They had a son Frederick 1786-1862 who was married about 1819. They had a daughter named Keturah 1791-1881. In view of this, it is likely that the Bandle children listed above were Timothy's nieces and nephews.

There are two 1790 census records for Timothy Barber in Litchfield County: Town of Litchfield and Town of Harwinton. I believe the census for the town of Litchfield is the correct one, as Timothy's neighbor Luther Foot is recorded next to Timothy. Luther Foot later witnessed the signing of Timothy's will. If you agree, please remove the source and image for the Harwinton census from the profile. Thanks!
