There are two separate Elijah Babcocks and their military service is conflated on this profile of Elijah born 1739 (Babcock-3830) as well as on the DAR record....I think.
The other Elijah Babcock is the one from Ashford, Connecticut born in 1745. (He's at Babcock-188). SInce his grandson Amos wrote about his service with General Ethan Allen at FT Ticonderoga , and since there was only one Elijah Babcock on the roles with the Green Mountain Boys, probably this Elijah born 1739 is wrongly given the other's service record.
It is possible this Ethan served elsewhere.
