ABRAHAM ANDREWS, b. at Hillsborough, 25 Jan 1772 son of Isaac Andrews and Lucy Perkins;[1] Abraham d. at Concord, NH, 23 Mar 1845;[2] m. at Hillsborough, 14 Oct 1794,[3] MARY “POLLY” CHANDLER, baptized at Andover, 28 Nov 1773[4] daughter of Isaac Chandler and Hannah Ballard;[5] Mary d. at Worcester, MA, 16 Jun 1850.[6]
Mary and Abraham Andrews resided in Hillsborough until late in their lives when they relocated to Concord where Abraham died. Mary died in Worcester. Abraham and Mary kept a farm and Abraham was a pump maker.[7] Abraham was for many years High Sheriff of Hillsborough County.[8]
In 1810, the household of Abraham Andrews was six persons at Hillsborough: one male 26 to 44, one female 26 to 44, three females under 10, and one female 10 to 15.[9] His household was seven persons in 1820: one male 45 and over, one female 45 and over, one male under 10, one female under 10, one female 10 to 15, one female 16 to 25, and one female 26 to 44.[10]
On 12 March 1816, Abraham Andrews of Hillsborough purchased a piece of land leading from Bible Hill in Hillsborough from Isaac Andrews (likely Abraham’s brother) with wife Rebecca for payment of fifty dollars. On 26 March 1833, Abraham sold this same property to Isaac Andrews 2nd of Andover, Massachusetts for payment of fifty dollars.[11]
Abraham Andrews and Mary Chandler were parents of five children born at Hillsborough, New Hampshire.
