He married Abigail Potter on 11 Jan. 1743/4, or 11 April 1743 at Farmington, Connecticut.^[2]

Gideon Andrews is DAR Patriot # A002621. He served as a Private for the Connecticut Line. He died while in service 7 Jan 1782 in Sandisfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts.

The Connecticut Adjutant General's Record of Service indicates that Gideon Andrews enlisted as a private on December 27,1779 when he lived in Farmington. He was light skinned, and had brown hair. His occupation was weaver. He was killed January, 1782.
