Abraham was living in Groton, MA when he enlisted in March 1775 in Capt. Farwell's Company for eight months. He enlisted on 1 December 1775 for twelve months in Capt. Joseph Moore's Company of Col. William Prescott's Regiment. He fought at Lexington and Bunker Hill. On 1 April 1818 he applied for, and was granted, a pension, giving his age as 66 years and residence as Stowe, VT.

Abraham moved from Groton, MA to Sharon, MA between April 1779 and January 1781, and from Sharon to Reading, VT. From Reading he moved to Stowe, VT. The town records of Stowe show that a piece of land was conveyed to Abraham Amsden in 1805. From that time on until 1827, there are records of many real estate transactions involving Abraham and his sons Levi, Asa, Abram, and Samuel. Levi, Abram, and Asa move to Ashtabula, OH about 1820.

In 1828, Abraham and Submit moved with their son Samuel to Ohio, where Samuel purchased a farm about two 1/2 miles east of Ashtabula (South Ridge Road). Abraham and Submit lived on Samuel's farm for the rest of their lives. [1]

The marriage record refers to this Abraham as "Jr.," but is there any other evidence of that, given that he is the third Abraham, and named his son "Jr."?
