Parental discrepancy: William Alsup and Sarah Jones?
One source says >
"John ALSUP, son of Thomas ALSUP. Born abt 1740 in Goochland County, Virginia. John died in Sumner County, Tennessee, aft 1813; he was 73." [1]However, this can't be the same John Alsup as he would have been 5 years old for his first marriage to "Unknown" with three children?
John first married UNKNOWN.
They had the following children:

On 23 Jun 1762 when John was 22, he second married Jurya POTTER in Saint James Northam Parish, Goochland County, Virginia.[2] Born in 1743 in Goochland County, Virginia. Jurya died in Kentucky in 1809; she was 66.
They had the following children: 5 i. John Jr. (1775-1824)
6 ii. Sarah (1763-)
7 iii. William (1764-)
iv. Frances "Fanny". Born on 28 Oct 1766 in Goochland County, Virginia.

Research Notes
When merging these two profiles, there was a different death date, 1807, needs further research. Father's name is spelled Alsup and mother's is Alsop. This needs to be researched further. One sibling is 40 years apart, needs further research. White-38395 DAR database lists death as after 1810
