Biography

Captain Simeon Allyn served with Col William Ledyard's Co at Fort Griswold, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Capt. Simeon Allyn was Killed in Action during the American Revolution.

Captain Simeon Allyn was born on 27 May 1745, in Groton, Connecticut. He was the son of Robert and Abigail (Avery) Allyn.

Simeon married Esther Gallup on 01 Sep 1771, in Groton, New London, Connecticut.

Simeon was an officer in the Revolutionary War, rising to the rank of Captain. He was killed in the Massacre of Fort Griswold, against the British attack led by Maj. Gen Benedict Arnold. He died on the day of the attack, 06 Sep 1781.^[1]

Captain Allyn was laid to rest at Allyn's Point Cemetery, Ledyard, New London County, Connecticut, USA.^[2]
