John Allen was born on March 1, 1761 ^[1][2][3] to John Allen and Alice Adams.

He married Cynthia Phillips on September 9, 1779, in Pembroke, Plymouth, MA ^[4]

John was a patriot of the American Revolution and served as a private in Capt. Joseph Stetson's company , Colonel Dyke's regiment, Mass militia. ^[5] He was also in Capt. John Turner's Company, Col. Theophilus Cotton's Regiment. He was discharged on 1 Nov 1777. ^[2]

He was married on 9 Sep 1779 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts to Cynthia Phillips.^[6][7]
