Biography

Ezra Allen was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.
Musician Ezra Allen served with the Iowa Volunteers during the Mexican-American War

Ezra was the son of Samuel Allen and Sarah Powers.

He married Sarah Beriah Fisk on 25 December 1832, Madrid, New York. Children - Cynthia Ammorette, 19 Apr 1839

Alexander Hamilton 25 Jul 1843
Alexander Alma, 28 Sep 1845.

He was a Musician in Company "C" of the Mormon Battalion. He completed the journey to California and was discharged at Los Angeles, July 16, 1847. He was killed by Indians at Tragedy Springs, near Carson Summit in the Sierra Nevada on June 27, 1847.
