Biography

Henry was born in 1754. He is the son of Conrad Ailshie and Maria Goeselle.

Henry P. Aleshire/Aleshite was born 19 Feb 1755, in the valley of Powell's Fort, Frederick (Shenandoah) County, Virginia, son of Johann Conrad Elscheid and Maria Catharina Goessel.

Much of what is known about Henry involves his service as a Sergeant in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Both Henry and his brother, John, served at the siege of Yorktown, and witnessed the surrender of British General Cornwallis. In John Conrad's application for pension he states he remained with his brother, Henry, at Yorktown, until Henry had to leave to take charge of British prisoners.

Aleshite-5 and Aleshire-115 appear to represent the same person because: These are probably the same Henry P Aleshire when regarding the spelling differences in the records.
Ailshie-51 and Aleshire-115 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth date, same death date and location, same father, same siblings, same wife, etc.
