Moses Adams was born on November 30, 1748 in New Marlborough, Berkshire County, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Joseph Adams and Miriam Cleveland.

He died while serving in the American Revolutionary War, first as a Corporal in Capt. Moses Soul's co., Col. John Fellows's 17th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment, which marched April 21, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775, then in Capt. Collar's co., Col. John Ashley's regt. joining Capt. Noah Allen's co., Col. Edward Wigglesworth's 13th Massachusetts Regiment, Continental Army, then as a Sergeant, Capt. Allen's co., Col. Smith's regt., and was reported died June 28, 1778.
