Abijah Abbot was born on April 14, 1756, in Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts ^[1]. He was the son of Samuel Abbott Jr. (1716-1758) and Abigail (Mirick) Abbott (1719-).^[2]

Abijah married Rachel (Jennings) Abbott (1759-1822) about 1775. Abijah served in the Revolutionary War as a Private during 1775. ^[3]
