William served in the American Revolution, for one day. He was in the same company as his son Jeduthan, Captain Joshua Holt's, (4th Regt Essex) that marched on the alarm of 19 April 1775.[4]
William died (age 73) on 2 January 1798 in Andover, Massachusetts.[5] William was mentioned on a memorial in South Church Cemetery, Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, United States with a death date of 2 Jan 1798.[6]
