Joel Abbot was born in 1757 in Hollis, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. He married Lydia (Cummings) Abbot on September 4, 1786 in Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. He passed away in 1806 in Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.

Probate

In his will dated 5 December 1805, Joel Abbot leaves beloved wife Lydia all the household items to be at her own disposal. She receives the use of and improvements on the rest of the estate as long as she is a widow. If the daughters marry and/or when sons reach age 21, two-thirds of the estate is to be divided among the children who are Elizabeth, Joel, Walter, Isaac Hotten, Lydia, and Mary Phillips. Lydia was named executrix.^[1]
