Joseph Abbe, husband of Tamesin Baker Abbe, wrote a will 7 October 1772. At his death in 1773, Joseph's son John's children, and John's wife Jerusha, received bequests from Joseph Abbe, as did his beloved wife Tamasin and his son Aaron Abbe. Joseph was a prosperous man and owned two farms in Hopkinton. Aaron Abbe was executor of his father's will.
Lieutenant Aaron Abbe served with 1st Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
