• Charles Leon Wright, 76, of Norman OK, passed away June 18, 2011. He was born Jan. 3, 1935, to Lacy Gomer and Edith (West) Wright in Ryan OK.
• Always the family man, he coached his son in Little League baseball, bowled, golfed, and enjoyed going to garage sales and the casino. He loved fishing at Lake Texoma, where he and Thelma had a lakehouse for 30 years. Charles wouldn't dare miss great-grandson Carson's sporting events and took great joy in holding great-granddaughter Allyson.
• He worked in the grocery store business for Safeway and Homeland, moving from western through central Oklahoma until retirement after 43 years in January 1996.
• After retiring, Charles served on the Oklahoma Federal Credit Union Board for 15 years. He was a member of the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce as well as the Lions Club of Norman.
• Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Edith Wright, and brothers Monroe Wright and Barney Wright.
• He is survived by his wife, Thelma Rea (Cook) Wright (Birth: 21 Nov 1934, of the home; a son; a grandson; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; sister Shirley Thomas of Norman; ..
