Hi Pam- Thank you for your offers of encouragement and help. I did watch the NewMember videos. Helpful, yes. The frustration comes from inputting data on people whose research I did half a century ago when I started working on my tree. Having to change format from Ancestry is a bit frustrating , as well. On the other hand there was a bit change and a lot of frustration when I first went online with Ancestry and stopped using paper files. Getting out of ones comfort zone is a challenge. Rita

Cheryl- It is not impossible to teach an old dog new tricks but it certainly takes a bit longer. I have been on Ancestry since their beginning and it has been a bit frustrating to learn a new system. It is also frustrating to be imputing data that I have had on my Ancestry tree for years and in my files for as long as the 50 years that I have been working on my tree. But with 98,000 names, a quarter million documents and many thousands of photos on my Ancestry tree, downloading the tree to WikiTree does not seem to be a good idea. I watched the NewMember videos. Helpful, yes. I'm sure it will get easier as I go along. Thank you for your kind offer of help Rita
Hi Rita and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

Pam ~ WikiTree Greeter
