When Nathan Williams was born on September 23, 1760, in Canterbury, Connecticut, his father, Nathan Williams, was 37 and his mother, Waightstill Davenport, was 26. He married Hannah Putnam on February 19, 1776, in Preston City, Connecticut. They had at least three children during their marriage. He died on March 14, 1848, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 87 years, and was buried in Brooklyn, Connecticut.
