Lynn, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!

Hi Lynn.

I saw the correction made on Leona Davis, I am positive that the spelling of her name is Leona from letters written by C.A. Davis and from photos I have of her with her name on the back.

I was just re-reading our conversations, the note you sent me about Clayton Davis and Parma Davis with 13 year old Ida in 1920.

Ida was born in 1906.

a living descent of Nathaniel Worden had done his DNA and he tested as a J2 meaning his line goes back to Peter Worden #1 born in England and came to MA 1637.

Lynn. Indeed there were very active abolitionist in the Davis family, The Aldrich side were very active in the movement and were supporters of the underground. I was told many times that the Davis and Aldrich go right back to the pilgrims, and the Mayflower, of course every family has the same claim. But in my research there is much support for it. In Charles letters he mentions that he worked in Columbia for the United Fruit Company before the Spanish American War and served in the war. In the letter from his niece she writes about how handsome he was in his uniform when he returned. You would not believe some of the stuff I found in his letters, notes from Gov. Rockefeller and other political leaders.

In one letter he writes that his sister told him he was actually 5 years older then believed, the family bible had been destroyed or lost and a new one was put together from memory by another sister who mixed up the dates!

I also have a picture of what I think is the last reunion of the remaining siblings.

I also have a photo that he wrote on the back "Home Place on So. Side"

another note says. "My niece Mrs. Opal Bert 1584 Hacienda Pl. Pomona Cal. born 4/19/1898 Daughter of sister Anna. Another note says. Mrs. George Resnick, 323 6th ave. Kirkland Wash. Wife of nephew George Resnick mother sister Gertrude. I believe that Gertrude moved to Kirkland Washington and Nancy Mannon Davis lived with her till she passed away, the family had her remains interned with George W. Davis's. Another, Mrs. F. E. Bennett, 6102 N.E. Davis St. Portland Ore. Grandpa Charlie was a wanderer, he left his wife and daughter, in his later years he wrote many letters to his daughter, Ida McClure, my g mother. I have those letters. I will share them but his writing is weak as he was in his 90's when he wrote them.
