Gerard Walton, the son of John Walton and Eliza Rogers was born iJuly 2, 1903 in Chetwynd, Shropshire, England, United Kingdom. ^[1]

In 1911 Gerard (age 7) was living with his parents and siblings in Newport, Shropshire. His father was working as a shepherd. ^[2]

In 1921 Gerard (age 17) was living with his older brother Thomas and Thomas' wife, Gladys in Newport, Shropshire. Gerard was emplyed by W Edwards as an agricultural labourer. ^[3]

Gerard (age 24) married Mary Josephine Colligan (age 23) about April 1928 in Southampton, Hampshire. ^[4]

In 1939 Gerard (age 35) and his wife Mary J (age 34) were living at 23 The Linkway in Barnet, Hertfordshire. Gerard was employed as a Lorry Driver. ^[5]
